Software engineers who wire AI into the systems your business already runs on, then keep it running.

AI integration for restaurants and local businesses

KJ Design & Consulting · Garden Grove, Westminster, and Orange County, California

What this is

This is software engineering. An engineer scopes your problem, writes the code, and maintains the system after it ships. You talk to the person building it the whole way through.

What we build

Built around the tools you already use.

Point of sale, scheduling, books, review sites. Everything runs on your own accounts, and you keep all of it.

The work

  • Reporting agents that read sales, labor, and reviews across locations and answer questions in plain language
  • MCP servers and connectors that link Claude or ChatGPT to your point of sale, calendar, and books
  • Customer chat that answers from your menu, hours, and policies
  • Outreach programs that find and contact local creators, then wait for your approval before anything sends
  • Internal tools your managers open every day
  • Advising for owners deciding where AI belongs in their operation

Running today. Systems we built and still maintain.

Multi-location reporting

A Southern California restaurant group with several locations reads daily sales, labor, and ad performance by asking questions in chat instead of opening five dashboards.

Creator outreach

A regional Mexican quick-service chain runs creator marketing through an agent that finds local creators, scores the fit, and drafts the emails. A person approves every send.

Backhouse

Our own product. It connects Toast point of sale to Claude so operators can ask about their numbers in plain language. We run it in production ourselves.

Working with us

Scoped on a call. Priced before we start.

Engagements run monthly. We work in person across Garden Grove, Westminster, and Orange County, and remotely everywhere else.

How it goes

  • A call to walk through how your business runs today
  • A written scope and a monthly price, agreed before work starts
  • An engineer builds on your accounts and shows working software as it lands
  • We maintain what we build for as long as the engagement runs

Questions

What does AI integration cost?
Every engagement is scoped on a call and carries a monthly price you agree to before any work starts. Scope varies too much between a single restaurant and a ten-location group for a rate card to be honest.
Which tools do you work with?
Claude and ChatGPT on the AI side. On the business side: Toast, Square, QuickBooks, Google Workspace, review platforms, and whatever else your operation already runs on. We build the connectors when they don't exist.
Who does the work?
Software engineers. The person you talk to on the first call is the person writing the code, and every system is built on your accounts, so you keep it all if we ever part ways.
Do you serve Garden Grove and Westminster?
Yes. The studio is in Orange County and we work in person across Garden Grove, Westminster, and nearby cities. Clients outside the area work with us remotely.
What can AI do for a restaurant?
Answer daily questions about sales and labor, summarize reviews, keep outreach moving, and give customers accurate answers about your menu and hours. It works when it is wired to your systems, which is the part we build.
